Op-Ed
This op-ed covered the topic of the increase in rat infestations throughout the city and what has already been done to control our issue. Also, I looked into why rats are succeeding against us which had led to many findings such as them being exceptional swimmers and their ability to travel up pipes. This highlights why rats have been a rising issue throughout the past decades and how this op-ed speaks to an audience of curious citizens who want to know why New York City has failed in controlling its rat population and what options may still lay ahead for us.
Review
Our mental health department within our healthcare system is something our society continues to struggle with. Mental health continues to get very little recognition and instead is blamed for being a menace. This review speaks on the recent Joker movie and his origin story which highlights the struggles people with mental health issues face. But, this review also addresses solutions in how we can make an accepting space for everyone while also learning how to treat and support our peers with mental issues much better.
