My name is Yahya Aala and this site features work covering my second semester in English 21001 at the City College of New York. The three main pieces I had written for this semester explore the various genres that exist within the world of humanities and writing, but also display the dive I took into the writing styles that I challenged myself into writing. English 21001 taught me to break out of my normal perspective of what essays were and instead threw new writing prompts at me that would push my writing into a much different direction and layout. Lastly, I was able to improve significantly on my steps to revision and editing which would lead to me producing a final essay that was better than the original draft.
